Amotekun, herdsmen clash in Oyo, seven feared dead 
- Many people have lost their lives in Oyo state after Amotekun engaged herdsmen in a fight 
- Though the cause of the fight is unknown, it started at Okebi village 
- According to report, one Alhaji and his two sons were killed in the clash
The incident, according to Punch Newspaper, occurred at Aiyete in the Ibarapa North local government area of the state. 
The news outlet reported that though the clash started at Okebi village, the cause of the clash could not be immediately ascertained. According to Saliu, a resident of the area, seven persons had been killed and about seven houses were also razed. 
Saliu said: “Alhaji Usman Okebi and his two sons were killed. We don’t know what caused the fight. Some persons were shot and injured. Meanwhile, Amotekun personnel were on Tuesday, January 5, attacked by some hoodlums around Tapa in Ibarapa north local government area of Oyo state. 
3 dead, patrol van burnt as hoodlums attack Amotekun operatives 
The hoodlums burnt the patrol van of the security officials and along with their office in the community. The Amotekun personnel were said to be on the trail of suspected abductors in the community when they stopped by hoodlums, who were suspected to be informants to kidnappers. Legit.ng also reported that General Kunle Togun (rtd), former boss of the Directorate of Military Intelligence (DMI) and current chairman, Oyo state Amotekun (Security Network) corps, has revealed that foreign Fulani herdsmen are planning to overrun the southwest region of Nigeria.
